Abstract
This book seeks to identify the people and processes responsible for the changing character of Grimsbury. At the time of the Boundary Commissioners' Report of 1831 the area consisted of two distinct, small and separated parts: Old Grimsbury and Waterloo. Between the two were fields. Grimsbury was in Northamptonshire for much of the 19th century and was linked with Nethercote in the parish of Warkworth for Poor Law purposes. Between 1831 and 1900 Grimsbury gre in response to industrial, railway and trade developments.
Interviews with people who have spent all or part of their lives in Grimsbury take the story on into the present century. Recollections and illustrations combine to highlight the uniqueness of the area.
